Learn More About Me

I am 69 years old and was born in Nashville, TN. I am the youngest of a family of 6 and grew up surrounded by 20 nieces and nephews. Babies and children have always been a part of my life.

My 41 year career with AT&T took me to Memphis, TN in 1972. I met my wife Tami at church there and we have been married since 1981. In 1984 we moved to the Atlanta, GA area and were there until early 2013. We moved to the Thompson’s Station area in late 2013 when a new house was finished. I retired in 2013 and have been doing contract back with AT&T since 2014. My wife is retired from a medical staffing company in Atlanta.

My wife and I have raised 2 sons and 2 daughters. We currently have 6 grand-children and hoping for more in the future. Like many folks we moved back to the Nashville area to be near our children and the grand-kids.

Tami and I are members of the Spring Meadows Church of Christ where I serve as a Deacon over Congregational Events. I lead singing on Wednesday evenings for 4-yr old through 5th grade. I also teach 4-yr old through Pre-K class on Sundays. I have been teaching that age group for 17+ years including our time in the Atlanta area.

Or congregation hosts a Breakfast With Santa event the first Saturday of December each year. As the planner and host of these events since 2014 we became aware of the need for sensory sensitive children to have a quiet place to visit with Santa. In 2017 we hosted an sensory sensitive event at our congregation. There were still issues so I began to look for a better way to serve the needs of children with special needs children and their siblings.

In 2018 we had the idea to begin providing visits with Santa in the comfort of the child’s home or school setting where they can be more at ease. We were able to serve 30+ children and their siblings and hope to serve more each year. In 2019 we were able to serve over 100 children and adults. In 2023 we were blessed to serve 250+ children and adults with special needs.

This web site is intended to provide families information and a way to select a date and time for their visit. Any information gathered will be totally private and only used by my wife and myself to contact you to finalize arrangements. We also like to get info about the children so that Santa can call names, talk about their favorite characters, interests, and TV shows as well as know family members during the visit.

The visit is completely free and without obligation. We neither solicit nor will we accept donations or gifts.

There is no attempt to sell you anything or ask you to join anything. This is purely about bringing some seasonal joy to children. Our only ask is that you tell other families who have children with special needs this service exists so we can reach as many families as possible. This is our pleasure to serve.
